1. When searching out the best price for any big ticket item, make sure to check the store reviews to find out if other customers had a good knowledge about them. It is also a good idea to check with the Better Business Bureau too. You want to be sure that the business is legitimate and values you as a client.
2. Be sure that you're entering your payment details on a safe and secure site. Look for "https://" inside the URL from the site that you're trying to buy something from. If you don't see that or no indication of any website security, then it's probably a good idea not to trust those people along with your account information.
4. Never give out your Social Security number to an online merchant. This number is not required for placing orders online. Giving an online store your Social Security number can help them use your personal and private information to steal your identity. To prevent that, if you continue an online store site and find out that as a requirement, do not buy anything from them and shop someplace else.
5. Learn the online store's return policy. If you are considering making a purchase on an item that you may want to return, ensure you find out if returning the item is an option. Sometimes when you shop online, items cannot be returned and you do not want to be stuck with an unwanted item.
